Cell Signalling Biology
http://www.cellsignallingbiology.org/

"An essential online resource on cell signalling pathways that is integrated and presented within the context of specific cell types and processes. The first half of the website characterizes the components and properties of the major cell signalling pathways with special emphasis on how they are switched on and off. The second half of the website deals with the way these different signalling pathways are employed to control the life history of cells from their birth during the process of cell proliferation, their differentiation into specific cell types to carry out different cell functions, and finally their death through processes such as apoptosis."

Chemistry Central
(www.chemistrycentral.com/)

"Chemistry Central is a new open access website (and journal) for chemists from BioMed Central. Chemistry Central features open access articles from Geochemical Transactions, the online journal of the ACS Division of Geochemistry, Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, as well as chemistry-related articles published in BioMed Central's biological and medical journals, including BMC Pharmacology, BMC Biochemistry and BMC Chemical Biology."

2. ACS Style Guide - 3d edition, 2006

"This extensive revision of the 1997 "ACS Style Guide" thoroughly examines electronic tools now available to assist writers in preparing manuscripts and communicating with publishers … and also contains references to many resources on the internet".
Includes numerous appendicies … e.g., proofreader's marks, recommended spelling list, CASSI abbreviations for the 1000+ most commonly cited journals.

3. Doctoral Education: Carnegie Initiative on the Doctorate
http://gallery.carnegiefoundation.org/cid

Snapshots created for the summer 2005 convenings (meetings of departmental representatives held at the Carnegie Foundation) highlight successful program elements and unanswered questions related to the themes of the three convenings: Developing researchers and scholars. Developing effective teachers. Supporting intellectual community.

4. SciFinder Scholar (Chemical Abstracts)

The CAplus file (Chemical Abstracts)has been enhanced with more pre-1907 records. Nearly 8,700 U.S. patent records from 1890-1899 were added, in addition to over 2,600 records from the 1878-1906 issues of the Journal of the Chemical Society–Transactions.

CA Registry has been updated to include the amino acid codes “O” and “PYL” for pyrrolysine, which was identified in 2002 as the 22nd genetically encoded amino acid.
